About this Item

Le Mont Collection 2007
3 (1 x 3) 750ml

Domaine Huet is the most storied estate in Vouvray, founded in 1928 and raised to legend by Gaston Huet, the winemaker-mayor who defended the appellation for more than half a century. Farmed biodynamically since 1990, it draws Chenin Blanc of extraordinary purity and longevity from three great parcels, in styles that run from bone-dry (sec) through off-dry (demi-sec) to lusciously sweet (moelleux). Le Mont, on flinty clay over limestone, is the source of Huet’s tautest, most long-lived and mineral wines. Joel B. Payne from Vinous gave it a rating of 92.

This lot consists of the following wines
Huet Le Mont Demi-Sec 2007 (1 x 750ml)
Huet Le Mont Sec 2007 (2 x 750ml)

Critics Ratings

Huet Le Mont Demi-Sec 2007
“Golden straw color. Exotic aromas of passion fruit, apricot, acacia honey and jasmine, plus a touch of oyster shell. Sappy, palate-coating pit fruit flavors are impressively deep but also sufficiently lively, with a chalky minerality lending lift and adding precision. Juicy and intensely floral on the classically elegant finish, this is strangely reminiscent of an off-dry riesling auslese from the Rheingau.” - Joel B. Payne, Vinous, 92/100 (Dec 2014)

Huet Le Mont Sec 2007
“Pale gold. An expressive, mineral-laced bouquet displays lemon and lime zest, passion fruit, pungent herbs and talc. Juicy but taut, offering tangy citrus and orchard fruit flavors, with a strong mineral spine adding lift. Becomes weightier and spicier with air, finishing on a juicy note of yellow plum, with strong sappy, stony persistence.......” - Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 92+/100 (May 2010)
