The High Trellis Cabernet Sauvignon 1996
About this Item
d'Arenberg is a McLaren Vale institution, farmed by the Osborn family since 1912 and led by the flamboyant Chester Osborn. The High Trellis Cabernet Sauvignon comes from old vines, some dating to the 1920s, trellised in the manner of California rather than head-pruned. 1996 was a well-regarded South Australian vintage. Robert M. Parker Jr. reviewed it for Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

Critics Ratings
"The 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon The High Trellis is from a vineyard planted in the 1920s. It is not head pruned as are so many Australian vineyards, but is trellised much like those in California. This wine exhibits pruny, raisiny notes in addition to black currant fruit." - Robert M. Parker Jr., Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Feb 2000)
