Notes
Chinese Ceramic figure Dehua figure of a Guandi, Qing dynasty, seated and modelled in flowing robes, holding a scroll resting across the chest. The face is finely rendered with calm, meditative features, and pierced with small kiln vent holes, a characteristic manufacturing feature of Dehua wares, allowing gases to escape during firing. The figure is covered in a soft ivory-white glaze typical of Dehua production.
