Daniel Dampt et Fils Chablis 1er Cru Les Vaillons 2015 (2 x 750ml)
Daniel Dampt et Fils is a family-run estate in Milly renowned for producing pure, mineral-driven Chablis, vinified exclusively in stainless steel to preserve freshness and precision. The warm, dry 2015 vintage yielded generous yet well-balanced wines with ripe fruit, vibrant acidity and classic Chablis minerality. This collection includes the Premier Crus Côte de Léchet, one of the estate's flagship vineyards (17/20 Jancis Robinson MW), and Les Vaillons, noted for its supple texture and subtle butter and almond notes, reviewed by Allen Meadows (Burghound) and Neal Martin (Robert Parker's Wine Advocate).
Provenance
The late David Brice was a respected wine connoisseur, collector and co-founder of Brice and Burnett – The Fine Wine Specialists (formerly Wine Cellar). His lifelong passion for wine from all corners of the world wine, and generosity, helped develop a culture of fine wine in South Africa and beyond. Always with value and authenticity in mind, the collection spans a wide range of styles from leading producers and diverse regions. The wines were professionally imported under refrigeration and carefully stored at Brice and Burnett (formerly Wine Cellar) thereafter. Many of the producers are not available in South Africa and provide an excellent buying opportunity.
For more detailed information on the lots, please feel free to contact Roland Peens (roland@briceandburnett.co.za). Roland spent many years sharing and enjoying these wines with David Brice and is happy to provide further insight into the collection.
Critics Ratings
Daniel Dampt et Fils Chablis 1er Cru Cote de Lechet 2015
“Real depth and savour to this. Green juicy fruit. Most appealing with a chalky finish.” - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Jan 2017)
Daniel Dampt et Fils Chablis 1er Cru Les Vaillons 2015
“Ripe, airy and pure aromas of citrus, white flowers and wet stone give way to energetic, round and utterly delicious medium-bodied flavors that are finer than those of the Fourchaume if perhaps not quite so complex. There is fine persistence on the finish where a hint of bitter lemon appears.” - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (Oct 2016)
“The 2015 Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons has a simple, chalk-scented bouquet with Granny Smith apple and granite aromas developing behind. The palate is well balanced on the entry with cooking apple and pear.” - Neal Martin, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate (Aug 2016)
