About this Item

Beaune-Grèves Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus 2015
3 (1 x 3) 750ml
The 2015 Côte de Beaune harvest produced wines of exceptional concentration, ripe aromatic richness and structured generosity, a vintage of broad appeal and considerable cellaring potential that stands as one of the finest in recent Burgundy history for Pinot Noir across the appellation's most celebrated Premiers Crus. Bouchard Père & Fils' 2015 Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus earned 16.5+ from Richard Hemming MW at JancisRobinson.com, and 94 points from Andreas Larsson. The Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus is an exclusivity of Bouchard Père & Fils within the Les Grèves Premier Cru of Beaune, its name recalling the Carmelite nuns who predicted the birth of Louis XIV, with Bouchard holding the exclusive right to this celebrated 3.92-hectare parcel producing one of the most historically significant wines in the estate's entire portfolio. The wine is produced from 100% Pinot Noir, aged 12 to 14 months in French oak with 30 to 40% new barrels.

Provenance

These wines have been sourced directly from the ancient 15th Century cellars of Bouchard Père et Fils. They were imported into South Africa in March 2026 by Great Domaines via refrigerated container (reefer), ensuring optimal preservation throughout transit.

Critics Ratings

“Vibrant, raw rhubarb and red bramble fruit, plus a little reductive character giving some rubbery aroma. Loads of violet and sweet spice – really outgoing.” - Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, +16.5/20 (Jan 2017)

“Medium deep ruby red colour. Perfumed and layered nose displaying sweet red fruit like raspberry, cherry, plum, mild spices like clove and ginger, fine oak, tobacco and floral hints. The palate has medium weight but excellent flavour intensity and bite with grainy tannin, a bright freshness underneath, discreet spiciness and a very long nuanced finish. Youthful but really tempting.” - Andreas Larsson, 94/100 (Mar 2018)
