Bouchard Père et Fils

Beaune-Grèves Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus 2007

A unique opportunity to acquire wines that define Burgundy’s legacy
About the Session

These wines have been sourced directly from the ancient 15th Century cellars of Bouchard Père et Fils. They were imported into South Africa in March 2026 by Great Domaines via refrigerated container (reefer), ensuring optimal preservation throughout transit. These historic bottles, among the last remaining examples from the 20th and early 21st centuries, represent some of the Domaine’s most important cuvées. Fine vintages across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune back to 1972 have been selected, checked and captured on the Bouchard database, with a dedicated neck proof tag confirming their recent release from the Bouchard cellars. Bottles from the 2009 vintage and older were also waxed in anticipation of their recent release.

About this Item

Beaune-Grèves Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus 2007
3 (1 x 3) 750ml
Approved by the technical team at Bouchard Père et Fils following inspection and tasting.
The 2007 Côte de Beaune harvest produced wines of fine aromatic purity, genuine elegance and early accessibility, a vintage that has retained its freshness and charm admirably and continues to offer rewarding and engaging drinking at the current stage of its development. Bouchard Père & Fils' 2007 Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus has earned 17 points from Richard Hemming MW at JancisRobinson.com, and 91 points from Roger Voss at Wine Enthusiast. The Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus is an exclusivity of Bouchard Père & Fils within the Les Grèves Premier Cru of Beaune, its name recalling the Carmelite nuns who predicted the birth of Louis XIV, with Bouchard holding the exclusive right to this celebrated 3.92-hectare parcel, producing one of the most historically significant and commercially prized wines in the estate's entire portfolio. The wine is produced from 100% Pinot Noir, aged 12 to 14 months in French oak with 30 to 40% new barrels.

Critics Ratings

“Earth, bracken, but ripe, pure fruit. Smoke too. Rather a lot of oak, and a pretty firm tannic structure. Meaty hints. Has the seriousness of Burgundy and the ripeness of more New World styles.” - Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Mar 2011)

“One of Bouchard's signature wines, this is beautifully textured, a series of bright fruits, strawberries and sweet acidity. There are tannins, but this is lighter than in some vintages, a wine for short-term aging.” - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 91/100 (Jan 2010)
