The 2003 Burgundy harvest is one of the most extraordinary in living memory, the severe summer heatwave producing wines of exceptional concentration and atypical richness that stand entirely apart from any other modern vintage and reward those who have held with bottles of quite singular depth and generosity. Bouchard Père & Fils' 2003 Beaune Les Marconnets has been Les Marconnets is one of the oldest Premier Cru vineyards in Beaune, its name traced to the Germanic Marcomans who settled here in the 3rd century AD, with Bouchard Père & Fils having farmed 2.32 hectares at the northernmost point of the appellation since 1791, the layers of grey, marly chalk lending this distinguished cru its characteristic elegance, bouquet and quiet refinement. The wine is produced from 100% Pinot Noir, aged 12 to 14 months in French oak with 30 to 40% new barrels.

These wines have been sourced directly from the ancient 15th Century cellars of Bouchard Père et Fils. They were imported into South Africa in March 2026 by Great Domaines via refrigerated container (reefer), ensuring optimal preservation throughout transit.
