Cape Baroque stinkwood and yellowwood display cabinet, 18th century
the moulded gable centred by a carved acanthus leaf cresting above a pair of conforming glazed doors enclosing three shaped shelves, the closing strip with spiral inlay, flanked by panelled and glazed sides, the lower half with a pair of shaped fielded panel doors enclosing two short shelves, with inlaid chamfered corners, shaped apron, raised on carved scroll feet, restorations
height: 245cm; width: 147cm; depth: 63cm

This cabinet, made in the late eighteenth century, displays Cape Baroque characteristics evident in the gabled pediment and symmetrical design in form and overlay.
