Notes

Daybeds are unusual pieces of Cape furniture as most were imported from other colonies, such as Ceylon.

Combining local materials with Anglo-Indian furniture traditions, this elegant Cape daybed reflects the cross-cultural design vocabulary that developed in the colonies.
