Notes
This was the personal chair of well known artist Gwelo Goodman.
During the late Rococo period, the influence of the new Neo-classical style began to be felt and in this transitional period, we see a mix of styles evident in this chair. The caned serpentine top is of Rococo form, while the undercarriage with its slender tapering legs is charcteristic of the Neo-classical style.
Provenance
Acquired from the estate of Robert Gwelo Goodman.
Private Collection.
