About this Item

Edwardian mahogany and inlaid occasional table, 20th century
the rectangular crossbanded and moulded top with central fan medallion inlay, raised on tapering square-section legs united by a lower shelf
height: 69,5cm; width: 69,5cm; depth: 40,5cm

Notes

This table reflects the influence of late 18th century English design as popularised by Thomas Sheraton .

The radiating oval fan inlay and stringing are hallmarks of this style which were revived in the Edwardian period where cabinetmakers such as Edwards & Roberts and Maple & Co produced reproductions.
