Notes
A 'pier'cabinet is designed to fit in the wall space or 'pier' between two windows or columns.
This style was influenced by the Anglo-French taste that became popular in the late Victorian era following the Great Exhibition of 1851. These decorative cabinets were glass-fronted, which allowed the display of decorative items, collectables, or china.
