the shaped and moulded outset cornice, above two bow-fronted astragal-glazed doors, enclosing two glass display shelves and fabric-lined interior, raised on tapering square-section legs united by an open shelf, terminating in spade feet

Display cabinets, also known as china or curio cabinets, became increasingly popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as a way of showcasing decorative objects.
This particular cabinet, with its arched glass panels, is characteristic of Edwardian-era furniture design, which often blended traditional styles with emerging Art Nouveau influences.
