Display cabinets, also known as china or curio cabinets, became increasingly popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as a way of showcasing decorative objects.
This particular cabinet, with its arched glass panels, is characteristic of Edwardian-era furniture design, which often blended traditional styles with emerging Art Nouveau influences.
