Notes
Thomas Sheraton is one of the great names of English furniture design and represents a turning point from the late Georgian to the early Regency aesthetic. Hallmarks of Sheraton's Neo-classical style include 'stringing', which was inlay made with contrasting exotic woods framing drawers, doors and tabletops. This gave his pieces an elegant, light and refined look.
The arched or shaped central apron, which provides knee clearance, indicates that the table is meant to be a working table.
