About this Item
A small Japanese black lacquer four-case inro, Edo period, 1615-1868
of upright form, against a roiro ground, lacquered with an archer on horseback aiming at a target held by an attendant, the interior of nashiji, signed, with a silver ojime moulded with a fruiting branch with gilt highlights, all in gold and coloured togidashi maki-e, signed Yoyusai to the inro, the ojime with two-character mark, 5,6cm high; and a Japanese black lacquer and mother-of-pearl inlaid five-case inro, by the Kajikawa Family, Edo period, 1615-1868, of upright form, against a roiro ground, lacquered and inlaid with Hotei and his sack of happiness to the front and a bird on a branch to the reverse, the interior of nashiji, with silver pierced and foliate engraved ojime with gilt highlights, signed Kajikawa saku with red pot seal, the ojime with two-character mark, minor chips, 7,2cm high
