A Cape brass coffee urn and konfoor, T.C. Falck, Roberston, 20th century the cylindrical urn with domed lid and finial, with applied shaped strap handles and spigot, stamped T C FALCK, MAKER ROBERSTON, the pierced square konfoor with side drawer, raised on four bracket feet, 41cm high

Notes

Thomas Falck was born in Robertson in 1898 and learnt the copper-smith's trade as an apprentice in the workshop of F.J. Staal.

Konfoors each had their own patterns and decorative piercings which served as ventilation and were characteristic of a specific maker. Inside the konfoor, is a spherical 'tessie' which was the receptacle for the live coals.
