The Boplaas Cape Vintage Reserve is a testament to the Nel family's heritage of producing exceptional Cape fortified wines using traditional methods and Portuguese grape varieties.

The wine is made from hand-harvested grapes, including Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barocca, Souzão, and Touriga Franca, from Boplaas and neighbouring farms. After fermentation in lagars with manual pigeage, the wine is fortified with wine spirit and aged for two years in large, old French oak barrels before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.

In its youth, this wine is full of tannins and spice, with a full fruit flavour, perfect for pairing with earthy and rustic meat dishes, venison, cheese, charcuterie, tapas, nuts, dried fruits, and green figs. However, with careful cellaring, this wine will develop into an even more complex and refined expression of the Nel family's unwavering dedication to crafting the finest Cape fortified wines.
