Sebastian Beaumont - Beaumont Family Wines - New Baby 2018

Sebastian Beaumont, the winemaker behind this exceptional wine, blended five white varietals from the farm's old vines to create the first vintage in 2015. The wine is a blend of Chenin Blanc planted in 1974 and 1978, Sauvignon Blanc from 1983, Chardonnay and Sémillon from 1997, and Colombar from 1988.

The wine was named "New Baby" after Beaumont wrote the name on the barrels, and the first vintage was born. The 2016 vintage is a little more classic in style, with a precision and complexity of flavour that draws you into the wine. The 2018 vintage is similar in style to the 2016 vintage but has the added dimension of some great phenolic tension. The first vintage was awarded a 5-star rating in the Platter Wine Guide and a 95-point rating from Tim Atkin, as well as being selected as one of his top wines.
