A collection of four southern Rhône reds from leading names. Saint Cosme, Louis Barruol’s négociant label, appears twice: the Syrah-Grenache-based Les Deux Albion 2019 and the Côtes du Rhône 2021. Jean-Louis Chave’s Mon Cœur 2018 is the Hermitage master’s supple négociant Côtes du Rhône, and M. Chapoutier’s La Ciboise 2021 comes from the Luberon. 2019 was an excellent southern Rhône vintage; 2021 a cooler, fresher year.

“Deep ruby-red. Smoke-accented cherry, dark berries and licorice on the perfumed nose, which takes on succulent floral and herb nuances with air. Smooth, concentrated and gently sweet, offering mineral- and spice-accented black raspberry, cherry and violet pastille flavors and a spicy jolt of cracked pepper.
