About this Item
Saint Cosme is the négociant range of Louis Barruol, whose family estate, Château de Saint Cosme, is one of Gigondas’s finest. This Côtes du Rhône is a pure Syrah, a perennial bargain drawn from the Gard and Vinsobres. 2019 was an excellent southern Rhône vintage. Joe Czerwinski from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate gave it a rating of 91, and James Molesworth from Wine Spectator gave it 90.

Critics Ratings
“While the 2019 Cotes du Rhone is not a single-estate wine, this 100% Syrah is a perennial bargain – and this could be its best vintage to date. Aromas of violets, cracked pepper, cassis and blueberries leap from the glass, while the medium to full-bodied palate is ripe but silky, leading into a long, mouthwatering finish. A blend of fruit from the Gard and Vinsobres, it retains a sense of freshness not often found in Syrahs from the Southern Rhône.” - Joe Czerwinski, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, 91/100 (Nov 2020)
“Ripe and friendly, with a blast of plum and boysenberry compote flavors laced with licorice and backed by a twinge of lavender on the plump finish.” - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 90/100 (Feb 2021)
