"The 2005 Vin de Constance is a very different beast to the 2007 and 2008: light on the nose with touches of hazelnut, dried quince and wet wool. It does not possess the intensity or the complexity of later vintages but leaving it for 10 minutes it opens up beautifully with orange blossom and mint. The palate is medium-bodied with an elegant, refined opening. The acidity is extremely well-judged with pure honey, marmalade, Turkish Delight and apricot.
