About this Item
Provenance
The late David Brice was a respected wine connoisseur, collector and co-founder of Brice and Burnett – The Fine Wine Specialists (formerly Wine Cellar). His lifelong passion for wine from all corners of the world wine, and generosity, helped develop a culture of fine wine in South Africa and beyond. Always with value and authenticity in mind, the collection spans a wide range of styles from leading producers and diverse regions. The wines were professionally imported under refrigeration and carefully stored at Brice and Burnett (formerly Wine Cellar) thereafter. Many of the producers are not available in South Africa and provide an excellent buying opportunity.

Critics Ratings
Bachelet Gevrey Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2009
"Very dark. Very incense nose with real excitement and density. Very rich and supple and gorgeous. Just lovely, you would never think it was 'just' a village wine. So long and rich. Great reverberant stuff." - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17.5/20 (Jan 2011)
"Full medium ruby. High-pitched aromas of blackberry, pepper and mint. Then rich, creamy and liqueur-like, with compelling sweetness to the blackberry and blueberry flavors. Lush, seamless, impressively broad village wine that retains good verve in spite of its full ripeness. Finishes with very fine tannins." - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 90+/100 (Jan 2011)
"I would go so far as to say that the Bachelet 2009s are among the best that I have ever seen from him, especially the Bourgogne. Everyone will indeed like these wines as they are brilliant." - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (Jan 2011)
Bachelet Gevrey Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2013
"Very rich and jewelly on the nose. A tiny bit restrained on the end but Denis is sure it will continue to acquire flesh in cask." - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5++/20 (Jan 2015)
"As to the wines, they are quite frankly a very pleasant surprise as I really did not expect this level of quality. They remind me quite a bit of the 2010s with their elegance, transparency and entirely classic qualities." - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (Jan 2015)
"Bright dark red. Deeply pitched aromas of plum, smoke and black olive. Fat, seamless and rich on the palate, nicely filled in for a 2013. Silky, sappy wine with terrific plummy depth complicated by notes of smoked meat and soil. Finishes plush and long, with substantial dusty tannins." - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 92+/100 (Dec 2015)
