About this Item

Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Lavières 2016
6 (1 x 6) 750ml
The 2016 Côte de Beaune harvest produced wines of exceptional purity, fine mineral structure and classical aromatic definition, a vintage that has confirmed its place among the finest of the decade for red Burgundy and continues to draw consistent critical admiration for its combination of freshness, precision and genuine cellaring capacity. Les Lavières is the most celebrated Premier Cru vineyard of Savigny-lès-Beaune, its stony, well-drained limestone soils producing wines of genuine character, fine aromatic complexity and the kind of structural precision and elegance that have earned this relatively modest appellation a reputation for exceptional quality at an accessible price among the most discerning collectors of red Burgundy. The wine is produced from 100% Pinot Noir, aged 12 to 14 months in French oak.

Provenance

These wines have been sourced directly from the ancient 15th Century cellars of Bouchard Père et Fils. They were imported into South Africa in March 2026 by Great Domaines via refrigerated container (reefer), ensuring optimal preservation throughout transit.

Critics Ratings

“Delicate bouquet with berry fruit notes. On the palate, seductive with the subtle intensity of its aromas and for its tenderness. Good ageing potential.” - Bouchard Père & Fils, producer tasting notes, 2016 vintage
