Bouchard Père et Fils

Beaune Clos Saint-Landry 2017

A unique opportunity to acquire wines that define Burgundy’s legacy
About the Session

These wines have been sourced directly from the ancient 15th Century cellars of Bouchard Père et Fils. They were imported into South Africa in March 2026 by Great Domaines via refrigerated container (reefer), ensuring optimal preservation throughout transit. These historic bottles, among the last remaining examples from the 20th and early 21st centuries, represent some of the Domaine’s most important cuvées. Fine vintages across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune back to 1972 have been selected, checked and captured on the Bouchard database, with a dedicated neck proof tag confirming their recent release from the Bouchard cellars. Bottles from the 2009 vintage and older were also waxed in anticipation of their recent release.

About this Item

Beaune Clos Saint-Landry 2017
1 (1 x 1) 3000ml
The 2017 Côte de Beaune white harvest was defined by severely reduced yields following spring frosts, yet the finest producers working the most carefully selected parcels delivered wines of exceptional concentration and structural depth from the small quantities that achieved full and optimal ripeness. Beaune Clos Saint-Landry is an exclusively white Premier Cru monopole of Bouchard Père & Fils within the appellation of Beaune, hosting the oldest traces of the Chardonnay variety in the entire côte, previously known as Tiélandry before becoming the property of the abbey of Maizières and purchased by Antoine Philibert Joseph Bouchard in 1791, with the estate holding the monopoly of this remarkable 1.98-hectare Premier Cru ever since. The wine is produced from 100% Chardonnay, aged 9 to 10 months in French oak with up to 15% new barrels.

Critics Ratings

“This has a wealth of peach and gently nutty notes with a smooth array of fresh bread and hazelnut biscuits on the palate. Good freshness here with yellow peach to close.” - James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com (Jan 2019)
