About this Item

Neo-classical inlaid mahogany server, 19th century

height: 88cm; width: 194cm; depth: 75cm

Notes

This server draws heavily on the refined design vocabulary of the late 18th century Neo-classical movement, particularly the work of Sheraton and Hepplewhite.

This period saw a shift away from Rococo exuberance towards a more classical and refined style.

This server has a purpose-made glass cover.

Provenance

Private Collection.
