Notes

A pair of Delft blue and white tobacco jars, decorated with figural smoking scenes beside tobacco barrels. One inscribed “VIOLET”, showing a single smoker; the other “SUMATRA”, with two figures smoking. The inscriptions refer to popular tobacco blends or trading origins. Both have domed lids with stylised floral decoration. Signature of maker on base.
