About this Item
Notes
Woven by the young Botswana artist Kelebogile Oshuka of Maun, this finely made basket demonstrates a confident command of traditional coiling techniques combined with a fresh, contemporary sensibility. The crisp radial geometry and carefully balanced earth-toned palette create a dynamic, almost optical rhythm, drawing the eye inward from rim to centre. Executed in natural plant fibres, the basket reflects both continuity with Botswana’s long-established basketry traditions and the emergence of a new generation of makers reinterpreting these forms with precision and originality.
