the gabled moulded cornice above a single astragal-glazed door enclosing two shelves, the lower section with a single arched panelled door enclosing a shelf, flanked by canted corners, raised on shaped bracket feet
height: 210cm; width: 93cm; depth: 48cm
Notes
Most glass cabinets at the Cape date from the early Baroque period.
These cupboards may have initially been used to store goods, but over time, as porcelain collections from the East became more prolific in households, there became a need for storage and display of china.
