Notes
Neo-classical furniture design emerged in the mid-18th century, drawing inspiration from the art and architecture of ancient Greece and Rome. The Empire style which flourished in France in Napoleon Bonaparte's reign, is a distinct phase of Neo-classism, characterized by grandeur and and the use of Roman and Egyptian motifs.
