About this Item

Biedermeier flame mahogany chest of drawers, c.1830
the rectangular top above four ogee long graduated drawers, raised on bun feet
height: 104,5cm; Width: 98cm; depth: 49cm

Notes

The restrained elegance and absence of heavy carving reflect the classic Biedermeier period, 1815-1848. The book-matched flame mahogany veneer, applied in mirror patterns across the drawer fronts, creates a highly decorative, symmetrical flame effect.
