About this Item
Notes
The elegant curve at the top of this cabinet is called a swan-neck pediment, as it mirrors the arch of a swan's neck. It was an interpretation of the Neo-classical broken triangular pediment used in ancient Greek and Roman architecture and became a defining feature of Chippendale, Hepplewhite and Sheraton furniture.
