each with a shaped top rail with a central rosette and scrolled carving above a pierced and carved mid rail, downswept arms, a caned seat, raised on ring-turned tapering front legs and splayed back legs

Notes
The combination of the carved and pierced back rails with a caned seat reflects the late Victorian revival of 18th century English design, drawing particularly on Georgian prototypes.
