Notes

Rodney Band was born in South Africa and grew up in Israel. He specializes in creating large sculptural bowls hand-hewn from carefully sourced logs which are characterized by unique colour and character.

English burr oak is a type of English oak characterized by the presence of burrs, which are abnormal growths on the tree that create a marbled or swirled appearance in the wood. These burls can occur anywhere on the tree, including the trunk and branches. Burr oak is prized for its beauty and is often used in fine furniture, veneers, and other decorative applications.

Band has exhibited extensively in South Africa and abroad, including shows at EBONY Curated, Franschhoek, Southern Guild and Maison & Objet, Paris. He continues to collaborate with leading interior designers such as ARRC, OKHA, Black Pear and Cecile & Boyd.
