Notes

Rodney Band was born in South Africa and grew up in Israel. He specializes in creating large sculptural bowls hand-hewn from carefully sourced logs which are characterized by unique colour and character.

Australian willow wood, like other willow species, is a soft, lightweight wood known for its good shock resistance and stability. It's not particularly durable under decay-prone conditions, but it's relatively easy to work with, making it suitable for millwork, furniture, and carving as seen in this particular lot.

Band has exhibited extensively in South Africa and abroad, including shows at EBONY Curated, Franschhoek, Southern Guild and Maison & Objet, Paris. He continues to collaborate with leading interior designers such as ARRC, OKHA, Black Pear and Cecile & Boyd.
