A European bentwood and rattan two-seater bench in the manner of Thonet, 19th century
the shaped back centred by a vacant oval flanked by caned shaped square panels, downswept arms with caned seat, raised on turned, tapering legs joined by a conforming stretcher, paper label adhered to underside 126,5cm long, *seat 38cm high
Notes
In 1867 Jakob Kohn and his son Josef began making furniture in Vienna, Austria. The Kohns manufactured bentwood chairs similar to those manufactured by Thonet.
