About this Item

A camphor and brass-bound campaign chest, 19th century
the hinged rectangular top enclosing an interior with small shelf, iron drop carrying handles to the sides, 51cm high, 105m wide, 51cm deep

Notes

These trunks were used in the military by army officers for their travels around the battlegrounds and territories of the British Empire.

Side carrying handles made transportation easy and the brass banded decoration served the functional purpose of protecting it from getting damaged.
