Grenache 2011

The Grenache 2011 was the maiden vintage for Momento Wines. Only 780 bottles were produced from a 50 year old dry-land bush-vine vineyard on granite soil, at Eendekuil in the Swartland.

Winemakers personal tasting note:

'A natural and hands-off winemaking approach was followed using 20 % whole bunches and gentle hand punch downs during its natural fermentation, giving the wine a beautiful tannin structure, allowing it to age for many years.

A combination of red berries, spice and floral scents; beautifully integrated, smooth mid palate with a fine tannin texture and a gentle acidity. This wine will be a decade old next year (2021). Elegant and pure, having aged gracefully, now in the prime of its life.' - Marelise Niemann
