Notes
Gaetana "Gae" Emilia Aulenti was an Italian architect, designer, and editor. Being one of the few prominent female architects during her time, her implementation of individual expression in interior spaces made her an important figure in post-war Italian design.
This table exemplifies the radical yet functional approach that made Italian design influential during the 1970s and expresses Aulenti's belief that furniture design should follow architectural principles through honest materials and functional clarity.
"I aim to create furniture that appears in a room as buildings on a skyline and reminds the viewer of the interaction between objects of design and architectural space."
