Notes
Cape Town-based designer Haldane Martin, now simply known as Haldane, has been a significant figure in South African design for over two decades. Known for iconic pieces like the Zulu Mama Chair and Songololo Sofa, his design evolution spans from furniture to interiors, with a recent focus on outdoor furniture collections.
The 'weightless' collection explored the relationship between visual lightness and structural strength. The base, strongly reminiscent of the wire framework of the Eames ' Eiffel Tower' construction, creates a sense of suspension beneath the glass top.
