Beaune Clos des Aigrots 2019
About this Item
Domaine Michel Lafarge is one of Burgundy's most revered estates, based in Volnay and farmed biodynamically for decades, its wines a benchmark of purity and finesse. Clos des Aigrots is a Beaune Premier Cru giving a fragrant, red-fruited Pinot Noir. 2019 was an outstanding Burgundy vintage, combining ripeness with freshness. Jancis Robinson gave it 17 out of 20, and it was reviewed by Neal Martin for Vinous and William Kelley for Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

"The 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Aigrots is shaping up beautifully, unfurling in the glass with scents of rose petals, raw cocoa, forest floor and sweet berry fruit. Medium to full-bodied, ample and velvety, it's supple and elegant, with fine-grained tannins, bright acids and a long, saline finish." - William Kelley, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Jan 2021)
"The 2019 Beaune Clos des Aigrots 1er Cru has a perfumed, floral bouquet, the judicious 15% new oak allows the fruit to flourish. The palate is very well balanced with blackberry and raspberry laced with white pepper, the mineralité surfacing towards the almost Pommard-like finish." - Neal Martin, Vinous (Oct 2020)
"Very fresh as well as sweet palate entry. Powerful. Intense ripe tomato flavours. Mineral finish." - Jancis Robinson, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Nov 2020)
