Royal Tokaji was founded in 1990 by a group of investors including the wine writer Hugh Johnson, and led the revival of Tokaji, Hungary's historic sweet wine, after the fall of communism. Mézes Mály is one of Tokaj's greatest First Growth vineyards, classified as such since the eighteenth century. 1995 was a fine Tokaj vintage.
