Cabernet Sauvignon 1994

Cape Mentelle is one of the founding estates of Margaret River, established in 1970 by David Hohnen, who went on to create Cloudy Bay in New Zealand. Its Cabernet Sauvignon, twice winner of the Jimmy Watson Trophy in the 1980s, is the wine that helped put the region on the map, drawn from an estate vineyard first planted in 1970 on free-draining lateritic gravel. 1994 was a very good red vintage in Margaret River.
