About this Item

Guidalberto 2016
6 (1 x 6) 750ml

Guidalberto is the second wine of Tenuta San Guido, the Bolgheri estate behind the legendary Sassicaia, a more approachable blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that offers an earlier-drinking taste of the house style. 2016 is one of the greatest modern Tuscan vintages. Antonio Galloni from Vinous gave it a rating of 92, Bruce Sanderson from Wine Spectator gave it 91, and Jancis Robinson gave it 16.5 out of 20.

Critics Ratings

"The 2016 Guidalberto is a wine of total precision and class. Nuanced and beautifully perfumed, with a good kick of mid-palate juiciness from the Merlot, the 2016 dazzles from the very first taste. Dark red cherry, plum, spice and floral notes add complexity on the persistent, silky finish. This is very nicely done." - Antonio Galloni, Vinous, 92/100 (Aug 2018)

"Shy on the nose and a touch grassy, this is lean and elegant, with black cherry, black currant, earth and spice flavors. Dense tannins underscore everything, and this finishes long. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot." - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, 91/100 (Jul 2018)

"Transparent shaded ruby. Very much needs food in the Italian way! Saline and strongly balsam. I'm going to put it in the cellar just to chill it a little to make the fruit more vibrant. No mistaking the country of origin ..." - Jancis Robinson, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (Sep 2025)
