Alain Hudelot-Noëllat Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2013 (3 x 750ml)
Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat of Vougeot, run since 2008 by the gifted Charles van Canneyt, is one of the most admired classical estates of the Côte de Nuits. Its regional Bourgogne has long punched well above its appellation. 2013 was a cool, hail-hit vintage saved by late-September sun, giving fresh, perfumed reds of classic proportions and bright acidity. Allen Meadows reviewed it for Burghound.com.
Provenance
The late David Brice was a respected wine connoisseur, collector and co-founder of Brice and Burnett – The Fine Wine Specialists (formerly Wine Cellar). His lifelong passion for wine from all corners of the world wine, and generosity, helped develop a culture of fine wine in South Africa and beyond. Always with value and authenticity in mind, the collection spans a wide range of styles from leading producers and diverse regions. The wines were professionally imported under refrigeration and carefully stored at Brice and Burnett (formerly Wine Cellar) thereafter. Many of the producers are not available in South Africa and provide an excellent buying opportunity.
For more detailed information on the lots, please feel free to contact Roland Peens (roland@briceandburnett.co.za). Roland spent many years sharing and enjoying these wines with David Brice and is happy to provide further insight into the collection.
Critics Ratings
Alain Hudelot-Noëllat Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2010
'Simple, jolly red fruit and a bright, pleasant acidity. Light tannins, very drinkable, light body.' - Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16/20 (Jan 2012)
Alain Hudelot-Noëllat Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2013
“Hudelot always seems to outperform with their Bourgogne and 2013 is no exception. The cool, pure and very pretty nose is composed of assorted red berries, violets and soft earth wisps. There is fine detail to the vibrant, delicious and silky-textured flavors that possess lovely balance on the dusty, refreshing and inviting finish. This is a very fine example of the genre and offers great value.” - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (Jan 2015)
