Critics Ratings
"Bright mid purplish crimson. Pretty haunting aroma, very much a step up from the village Gevrey. Really juicy red-cherry fruit and a certain polish. Promising! Quite a charmer but with good balance of sweetness and acidity." - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5+/20 (Dec 2020)
"The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Etelois was completely destemmed and has a reserved bouquet, quite earthy in style at first, featuring brambly red berry fruit. It becomes spicier with aeration, revealing hints of cumin and bay leaf. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, smooth and beautifully balanced, the oak seamlessly integrated. It lingers nicely on the finish, completing a very composed and seductive Aux Etelois." - Neal Martin, Vinous (Oct 2020)
"A mentholated top note is present on the elegant and pure essence of red berries, anise, underbrush and soft spice wisps. The round, delicious and more refined middle weight flavors possess good minerality if not quite the same power and punch on the ever-so-slightly warm finale. This is a refined Gevrey of finesse and understatement that is also worth considering." - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (Jan 2021)
