Italy
About the SessionItaly dominates the auction, led by a considerable depth of Tuscan greats. Fontodi spans the full range of the estate from the benchmark Chianti Classico through multiple vintages of Flaccianello della Pieve, their iconic Sangiovese IGT, to the crown jewel Vigna del Sorbo Chianti Classico Gran Selezione. The jewel in the crown of Tuscan reds, Brunello di Montalcino is well represented with offerings from Il Poggione, Casanova di Neri, Silvio Nardi, and the rare Gaja Pieve Santa Restituta. A group of curated Italian Collections rounds out the Italian session, offering mixed selections ideal for those seeking range across multiple producers in a single lot.

La Mondianese Noah Monferrato 2011 (1 x 750ml)
Three consecutive vintages of La Mondianese's Noah from the family estate in the Monferrato hills of Piedmont. Built around Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah with a portion of Barbera or Ruchè, grown on calcareous soils of marine origin, hand harvested and matured for eighteen to thirty months in wood, the Noah is a deeply coloured, warm and rounded red of good structure and balance. The 2009, 2010 and 2011 offer a compelling opportunity to compare three successive expressions of this distinctive Piedmontese blend.
