About the SessionItaly dominates the auction, led by a considerable depth of Tuscan greats. Fontodi spans the full range of the estate from the benchmark Chianti Classico through multiple vintages of Flaccianello della Pieve, their iconic Sangiovese IGT, to the crown jewel Vigna del Sorbo Chianti Classico Gran Selezione. The jewel in the crown of Tuscan reds, Brunello di Montalcino is well represented with offerings from Il Poggione, Casanova di Neri, Silvio Nardi, and the rare Gaja Pieve Santa Restituta. A group of curated Italian Collections rounds out the Italian session, offering mixed selections ideal for those seeking range across multiple producers in a single lot.

Critics Ratings
Ciabot Berton Barolo Roggeri 2015
“Timid nose. Very sweet palate entry. Rather stodgy and earthbound with pretty rustic tannins.” - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16/20 (Dec 2018)
“The 2015 Barolo Roggeri is a beautiful, gracious wine. Sweet red berry fruit and perfumed floral notes open first, revealing a mid-weight, vibrant Barolo of real character. The 2015 has an aura of sensuality to it, until the firm Nebbiolo tannins make themselves felt. I especially admire the purity of the flavors.” - Antonio Galloni, Vinous, 93/100 (Oct 2020)
Curto Marco Barolo Arborina 2015
“Mid ruby with orange tinges. Brooding nose with underlying richness of fruit and top notes of sweet spice. Lots of ripe cherry fruit perfectly balanced by tangy acidity. Bags of grainy tannins and proper depth on the finish. You could be tempted to drink this now, but there is more to come.” - Walter Speller, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5+/20 (Jun 2019)
Massolino Barolo Serralunga d'Alba 2015
“The 2015 Barolo is bright and beautifully focused, with lovely red berry, orange peel and floral character. Medium in body, translucent and gracious, Massolino's straight Barolo is fabulous in 2015. This is a very pretty, classy wine that readers will be able to enjoy with minimal cellaring. Even so, the straight Barolo has a track record of aging gracefully. Vineyard sites are Briccolina, Collareto, Broglio, Le Turne, all in Serralunga, plus a bit of fruit from Parussi, which is in Castiglione Falletto.” - Antonio Galloni, Vinous, 91/100 (Nov 2018)
“Fresh, savoury-spicy nose that is a little peppery as well as voluminous. Succulent fruit matched by fine, tannic grip. Elegant as well as gripping on the finish.” - Walter Speller, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Dec 2018)
