Critics Ratings
Luigi Einaudi Barolo Terlo Vigna Costa Grimaldi 2015
“Mid ruby. Cool strawberry and cherry nose with a hint of iron and minerally notes. Plenty of strawberry fruit but with an elegant, mid-weight feel to it. Tangy acidity adds freshness and nerve to the concentrated fruit as does the layer of sandy tannins. Really concentrated and yet not heavy.” - Walter Speller, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Jun 2019)
“An austere version, offering cherry and currant fruit, accented by earth, tobacco and menthol notes. Not that expressive now, with assertive, resonant tannins lining the finish.” - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, 91/100 (Nov 2019)
“The 2015 Barolo Terlo Vigna Costa Grimaldi is a powerful, bombastic wine. Smoke, leather, tobacco, dried flowers and menthol add an attractive savory edge to the dark Nebbiolo flavors in this muscular, virile Barolo. A wine with shoulders and breadth, the 2015 needs a few years to unwind, but it has quite a bit of potential. I imagine it will always remain a bit burly in its tannic structure and overall feel.” - Antonio Galloni, Vinous, 93+/100 (Nov 2018)
Poderi Colla Barolo Dardi Le Rose Bussia 2015
“Mid ruby with orange tinges. Savoury nose that is still closed in terms of the fruit. Savoury and intense strawberry fruit palate with minerally hints. Powerful sandy tannins that align with the fruit on the finish......” - Walter Speller, JancisRobinson.com, 17.5/20 (Jun 2019)
“Dense, tannic and impenetrable today, with cherry, berry, eucalyptus and tobacco flavors locked up tight. Balanced overall, so be patient.” - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, 93/100 (Apr 2020)
“The 2015 Barolo Bussia Dardi Le Rose is one of the most intriguing wines of the vintage. Sweet tobacco, cedar, dried cherry, mint and licorice give the wine an attractive openness at first, but that turns out to be deceptive, as the 2015 is much tighter on the palate. More than anything else, I am impressed by the wine's phenomenal length. I imagine the 2015 will always retain a slightly mature character in its aromas and flavors, but it also has the structure to develop beautifully in bottle for many years to come. This is an especially powerful edition of the Dardi Le Rose. I loved it.” - Antonio Galloni, Vinous, 94/100 (Aug 2019)
