Valenciso
Rioja Reserva 2007,2011
Spain
About the SessionRioja anchors the Spanish session with a depth and breadth that rewards both traditionalists and modern-style enthusiasts. La Rioja Alta is the most extensively represented producer, with Gran Reserva 904 spanning multiple vintages and formats, alongside the classic Reservas - Viña Ardanza, Viña Alberdi, and Viña Arana. Beyond Rioja, Sierra Cantabria delivers some of the most sought-after names in the sale. Their single-vineyard Amancio across 2002 and 2007, the Finca El Bosque, and the Colección Privada 2003 represent the very top of the Rioja hierarchy.

Valenciso Rioja Reserva 2011 (5 x 750ml)
Valenciso Rioja Reserva 2007 (1 x 750ml)
Valenciso was founded for the 1998 vintage by Luis Valentín and Carmen Enciso, two Rioja natives who joined their surnames to make a single wine, always released as a Reserva, from their base at Ollauri in the north of Rioja Alta. Working only with selected Tempranillo from mature, low-yielding vineyards, the bodega ferments in concrete and ages in fine-grained French oak barriques. The 2011, from a warm and dry year, is pure Tempranillo built to the house ideal of aromatic lift over weight, with the structure and freshness to reward time in bottle.
