Their single-vineyard Amancio across 2002 and 2007, the Finca El Bosque, and the Colección Privada 2003 represent the very top of the Rioja hierarchy.

La Rioja Alta, founded in 1890 in Haro's Barrio de la Estación, is one of Rioja's foremost traditional houses. Viña Alberdi is the entry point to its Reserva range, a 100% Tempranillo from vines over forty years old in Rodezno and Labastida, matured for two years in American oak from the bodega's own cooperage. The 2013, with a cool wet spring rescued by a long dry summer, is fresh, savoury and finely balanced. Josh Raynolds from Vinous gave it a rating of 90.
